Innolux a Taiwan based company has aquired TPO and CMO (both companys does have OLED products) Subject to the completion of all legal procedures, both companies have agreed that each 2.05 shares of CMO common share will be exchanged into 1 of Innolux common share. Mtube II Netbook and Tablet with an OLED

The MTube II is concept from the Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry which is device platform with high performance and low power consumption. It is equipped with two separable parts. First there is a 7.6-inch AMOLED panel from CMEL with an ARM processor and Android, and the lower half is a QWERTY keyboard with an X86 processor with Windows XP.

Researchers develop inorganic LEDs that are brighter, and can make flexible and transparent displays

Researchers from China, Singapore and the US has created new inorganic-LED based displays, that are brighter and more versatile than OLEDs, and can also be made flexible and transparent. The team first created what they call a "sacrificial layer" in the manufacturing process. It’s a weak adhesive that holds the LEDs in place while they form, but then it’s partially dissolved away by an etching liquid.
