There are reports that Samsung are set to release a new LiMo phone for vodaphone. LiMo is (yet-another) Linux-based mobile OS, which is used mainly in Japan.

Samsung to release a Galaxy ‘Lite’ android phone with an AMOLED?

There are reports that Samsung will soon launch a new phone – the i5700 Galaxy Lite, a smaller-brother to the i7500 Galaxy. It will have only 1Gb of memory (and a microSD slot) and a 3.2mp camera.

Samsung – we’ll have an OLED laptop ready by Q3 2010

Kyu Uhm, Head of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Samsung’s Computing Division, said that the company would look to release an OLED laptop towards the end of 2010 – probably in Q3. Samsung SDI 12.1 inch laptop prototype "Samsung is the largest OLED screen manufacturer.

The IFA 2009 exhibition starts today, and several companies will be showing OLED displays. Samsung is still showing the same 14.1" and 31" panels they showed us a while back , while LG is unveiling their new 15" OLED TV. Here’s a new photo that LG uploaded to Flickr today: The LG TV specs : 1366 x 768 resolution, 1.7mm width, and a contrast ratio of 100,000:1

OLED is an emissive display technology – it means that the OLED materials emit light. This is in contrast to a reflective display – which uses an external light source – an ePaper display for example, or a ‘real’ paper.

Amazon are now offering the Samsung Omnia II , unlocked, for pre-order – for 999$ . The Omnia II has a 3.7" touch AMOLED (800×480). It’s a HSDPA phone with a 5Mp camera, video recording at 30fps, internal memory of 2GB to 16GB, microSD slot, WiFi, A-GPS and TouchWiz UI 2.0. Samsung says that the Omnia II will be available soon for the Verizon network .

Samsung announced that the Omnia II phone (3.7" touch AMOLED, 800×480) will be coming to Verizon soon. The Omnia II is a HSDPA/HSUPA phone, with 5mp camera, video recording at 30fps, internal memory of 2GB to 16GB, microSD slot, WiFi, A-GPS and TouchWiz UI 2.0
