The demand of AMOLEDs for smartphones is very strong, and Samsung Mobile Display can not deliver so much OLED Panels. Now AU Optronics or AUO want to introduce there touch panel business for smartphones under its consumer product display business group. AUO has begun production of in-cell touch panels based on its TFT-LCD manufacturing technology. AUO start the mass production of small/medium sized AMOLEDs in 2011 with the 3.5G plant. The Display Business Operation executive VP Paul Peng says that in addition Auo may use its 4.5G production equipment to make OLED panels . read more

The first Windows-Phone-7 smartphones are now on the market. Today we show you the difference between Samsungs Omnia-7 with a 4 inch Super-Amoled against the LG Optimus 7 with LCD-Tft technology . We show you also some picture from the Samsung Omnia 7 in direct sunlight. Super-Amoled has a much better contrast ratio, better colours, and is much better in direct sunlight. Microsoft want Amoled for all Windows-Phone-7 smartphones but the OLED demand at the moment is to high. read more

Sonys S-LCD vs Samsung Super AMOLED

Now its official Htc switch from some models from AMOLED to S-LCD from Sony. The reason is that Samsung mobile display can not handle the demand of the market.HTC says that the displays are comparable, and that the S-LCD actually consumes less power than the AMOLED displays! read more
