NEMO – a New OLED materials project

NEMO (NEw Materials for OLEDs) is a new EU project focusing on new Polymer OLED materials with long lifetime and efficiency. NEMO is led be four companies (coordinated by Merck ) and seven research and academic institutions (including the Fraunhofer institute ).

LG Display reveals OLED roadmap: 40" OLEDs in 2016, cheaper than LCDs

LG Display has revealed their OLED TV roadmap: 15" displays in 2009, 20" in 2010, 30" in 2011 and 40" or larger panels in 2012.

Sony Ericsson rumored to work on a new 3.5" OLED Phone

There are rumors that Sony Ericsson are working on a new Symbian mobile phone (the Kurara) with a 3.5" touch AMOLED display, to be released in the first half of 2010. It will also have a 8.1mp camera. We don’t have any more details..

IGNIS Innovation , in partnership with Kodak and Prime View International (PVI), has developed a 5" segment of a 32" OLED HDTV AMOLED display, using industry standard amorphous silicon thin film transistors (TFT). The prototype uses IGNIS’ MaxLIfe solution, which compensates separately for both the TFT and LED degradation using only an electrical feedback – an industry first. This technology does not use any optical sensors which are unreliable

Riber to supply equipment for two new OLED production lines

Riber (supplier of molecular beam epitaxy equipment) announced a "significant" contract to supply equipment for two new OLED production lines (730×920 mm panels) in Asia. The client will use this to produce "large size screens".

LG to build a 5G AMOLED plant, will begin mass-production in 2H 2011

LG Display will build a new 5G AMOLED plant in the beginning of 2011. Mass production of OLED panels will being in 2H 2011. I will have a capacity of 40,000 sheets Gen 5 sheets a month.

Recom introduces a new 2.8" AMOLED video name tag

The Recom Group has a new product – the video name tag , using a 2.8" AMOLED (320×240). It’s got 2Gb of internal memory, to store a video and then play it continuously (it can do this for around 6-10 hours between recharges)
