LG’s 15" OLED TV is now on sale in Korea for 2,580$

LG ‘s 15" OLED TV is now on sale in South Korea, for 3 Million Won (around 2,580$). There’s not a lot of information yet (like the model name, where it can be found, etc.). LGE 15-inch OLED TV The 15" OLED TV will have a 1366×768 resolution, 100,000:1 contrast ratio and it’ll be only 1.7mm thick.

Kyocera stops its OLED program

It appears that Kyocera has decided to stop its OLED program, and they dissolved their OLED subsidiary. Kyocera were working together with UDC towards OLEDs for mobile phones, including flexible OLEDs

Lumiotec is showing new OLED lighting panels. Lumiotec has equipment for developing 300×300 mm OLED panels (although the ones on show are 142x142mm).

The MOTO Development Group’s 5" Android 2.0 internet device (MID) is now available for developers. It is powered by a TI OMA3430 CPU and has a 5" OLED capacitive touchscreen.

ETRI shows new OLED Lighting designs and panels made by SMD

The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) in Korea has displayed 13 pieces of OLED lighting – some hese were the winners in an OLED lighting design contest, and some were designed by InnoDesign (from Korea): The lighting panels were co-developed by ETRI and Samsung Mobile Displays (SMD). The have 20,000 lifetime and are as bright as fluorescent lamps (and consume less than half the power)

The Samsung Moment is now available for the Sprint network

The Samsung Moment is now available for the US Sprint network. The phone has a 3.2" touch OLED, full QWERTY slider, 3.2mp camera, microSDHC slot, Wi-Fi and GPS. It runs Google’s Android OS (on a 800Mhz processor).

Idemitsu Kosan is showing some new OLED lighting prototypes using their own fluorescent and phosphorescent OLED materials. Phosphorescent OLEDs are more efficient than fluorescent ones

Sony Ericsson rumored to work on a new 3.5" OLED Phone

There are rumors that Sony Ericsson are working on a new Symbian mobile phone (the Kurara) with a 3.5" touch AMOLED display, to be released in the first half of 2010. It will also have a 8.1mp camera. We don’t have any more details..

Visionox shows new OLED lighting and display prototypes
Oct 30th
Visionox (a Chinese company) is showing new ‘decorative’ OLED lighting and display prototypes. There’s an OLED lamp, and an OLED digital photo frame. Visionox say they have achieved the following technology breakthroughs: Long lifetime (over 100,000 hours halftime at brightness of 1000 cd/m2) fluorescent white OLEDs with a composite blue emitting structure.
