The 3-year project is called Light InLine (or LILi)

eMagin Posts Record Revenue for Third Quarter

eMagin (making OLED microdisplays) has posted their financial results for 3Q 2009. Quarterly revenue exceeded $6.1 million, and net income was $1.2 million. eMagin also reports substantial manufacturing yield

eMagin announced today that they have been awarded a 2 year, $6 million program by the US Army to develop ultra-high resolution (1920×1200) OLED microdisplays.

Samsung is considering a new 5.5th-generation OLED line for 30" TVs

Samsung Mobile Display is considering a new OLED line in Tangjeong (South-Chungcheong Province, Korea). The new line will be using 5.5th-generation technology for 30" OLED TVs . Total investment will be 1.5 trillion Won ($1.3 billion), although SMD says that the investment size will be decided by demand from clients such Samsung Electronics, Sony and Sharp

GE: roll-to-roll OLED Lighting panel printing is "real", reached over 90% yield

GE is working since2003 on roll-to-roll OLED printing (of flexible and transparent OLED lighting panels). Dr Yan from GE says that in 2007, they had fairly high defects, around 65% yield. Today GE says hat their yield is between 90.

The local government of the Yamagata Prefecture in Japan will support small and mid-sized companies with OLED research. They have created a fund (called ‘Dream and Future Fund for Yamagata Industry’) that has selected 20 companies in 4 areas – ultra-precision technology, OLED, automobile and aircraft

Congress approves 3M$ for eMagin to further develop OLED night vision goggles

The US Congress has approved 3M$ in additional funding for eMagin ‘s OLED night-vision goggles project, which already got a 2.4M$ back in 2007. The bill must win the approve of the Senate before it is finalized. eMagin’s OLED micro-displays will enable more powerful and yet small equipment for US soldiers.
