Sony shows Flexible OLEDs and new concepts at CEATEC 2009

Sony is showing some new concept designs at CEATEC 2009, including an OLED bracelet walkman and a flexible OLED laptop. Also on display is a 0.2mm flexible OLED, which seems to be the same one Sony displayed at CES 2009 . Via Engadget

Kodak is showing a new demo of their flexible OLEDs – working under water: Here’s some closeups of the flexible OLED: Back in April, Japan’s ITO electronics also showed waterproof OLEDs .

Researchers make a liquid-OLED
Aug 15th
Researchers from Japan has created a new OLED with a liquid organic semiconducting layer (made out of ethylhexyl carbazole – EHCz) to transport charge. This can useful for making flexible OLEDs, and also improve reliability. The liquid semiconductor can be used in curved structures, or even could be circulated or refilled into the active emitting layer.
