eMagin to build their own OLED deposition machine, to increase OLED microdisplay production capacity tenfold

eMagin announced that it has signed an agreement to built its first production OLED deposition machine. The new machine is expected to increase OLED deposition capacity by approximately tenfold, to increase yield significantly and contribute to substantially more automated processes. The new proprietary machine replaces the company’s existing Satella, an R&D machine adapted and used by eMagin for production since its inception in 1996. The new machine is expected to be completed in Spring 2011, with production beginning in the Fall 2011.

eMagin Corporation announced today that Liteye Systems has developed two new head mounted display (“HMD”) products equipped with industry-leading OLED microdisplays from eMagin. eMagin reports 4Q 2009 results

eMagin today reported their latest financial results. The company was profitable in 2009 and had $6.7 million in revenue in the fourth quarter (profit was $1.4M). They also report good progress in their efforts to develop a high-res (over HD), under 1″ display for the US Army.

eMagin awarded $6 million to develop a ultra-high resolution OLED microdisplay for the US Army

eMagin announced today that they have been awarded a 2 year, $6 million program by the US Army to develop ultra-high resolution (1920×1200) OLED microdisplays.

Congress approves 3M$ for eMagin to further develop OLED night vision goggles

The US Congress has approved 3M$ in additional funding for eMagin ‘s OLED night-vision goggles project, which already got a 2.4M$ back in 2007. The bill must win the approve of the Senate before it is finalized. eMagin’s OLED micro-displays will enable more powerful and yet small equipment for US soldiers.

eMagin issued financial results for its second quarter ending June 30, 2009. eMagin posted record sales and profits – they had 5.9M$ in sales, and 1.3M$ net income.
