LG Display is showing a new 20.7" OLED Panel for the medical market. It has 2560×2048 resolution (QSVGA) and a contrast ratio that is higher than 100,000:1

Universal Display reports 2Q financial results, expects growth in OLED TVs in 2010 and beyond

Universal Display Corporation (UDC) announced their results for 3Q 2009. Revenue were $5.1M, out of which $1.6M came from chemical revenue, license and royalty payments and commercialization assistance

Kyocera stops its OLED program

It appears that Kyocera has decided to stop its OLED program, and they dissolved their OLED subsidiary. Kyocera were working together with UDC towards OLEDs for mobile phones, including flexible OLEDs

The MOTO group’s 5" OLED Android 2.0 MID is now available

The MOTO Development Group’s 5" Android 2.0 internet device (MID) is now available for developers. It is powered by a TI OMA3430 CPU and has a 5" OLED capacitive touchscreen.

Polar OLED: New material company, spun-off the University of Hull

Polar OLED is a new company, spun off from the University of Hull in the UK. Polar is working on "liquid crystal based polymer OLED materials", and are currently shipping sample materials for research. Polar say that their materials will be far more cost effective to manufacture than what’s available today

The Samsung Moment is now available for the Sprint network

The Samsung Moment is now available for the US Sprint network. The phone has a 3.2" touch OLED, full QWERTY slider, 3.2mp camera, microSDHC slot, Wi-Fi and GPS. It runs Google’s Android OS (on a 800Mhz processor).

NEMO (NEw Materials for OLEDs) is a new EU project focusing on new Polymer OLED materials with long lifetime and efficiency. NEMO is led be four companies (coordinated by Merck ) and seven research and academic institutions (including the Fraunhofer institute ).
