Yesterday we posted a video comparing the Samsung Omnia II ‘s OLED vs the Nokia N900′s LCD (and the OLED is much better, of course). Now the same user has uploaded another video, showing how the displays behave in direct sunlight – and the OLED is much better.

Samsung will soon launch a new LiMo phone in Korea, the SCH-M510. It will feature a 3.5" WVGA touch OLED, 5mp camera, Wi-Fi, bluetooth and an accelerometer. This might be just a rebrand of the Vodafone 360 H1 , we’re not sure yet

OLEDNet reports that CMEL is now working at only 40% of its capacity, because of financial trouble at the parent company CMO. In addition, Sony has stopped its production line

LG Display is showing a new 20.7" OLED Panel for the medical market. It has 2560×2048 resolution (QSVGA) and a contrast ratio that is higher than 100,000:1

Korean companies to invest in AMOLED and develop large-size vapor deposition equipment

Several Korean firms (including Samsung and LG) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to join hands in developing equipment to manufacture large-size AMOLED displays (i.e. OLED TV panels) . Korea wants to get a top-position in OLED displays and lighting, and the firms committed to further investments in these fields. Under the MOU, the companies (Samsung Mobile Displays, LG Display and other companies) will co-develop and mass-produce vapor deposition equipment for AMOLED panel production

Lumiotec shows new OLED panels, plans to start mass-production in January 2010

Lumiotec is showing new OLED lighting panels. Lumiotec has equipment for developing 300×300 mm OLED panels (although the ones on show are 142x142mm).

LG Display has revealed their OLED TV roadmap: 15" displays in 2009, 20" in 2010, 30" in 2011 and 40" or larger panels in 2012.
